The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Here is a video explaining what coaching is and what is not: here

The coaching needs are normally identified by the coachee and an initial conversation is arranged to see if the chemistry is right between the coach and the coachee. The coachee will then agree on your objectives for the coaching and agree on a plan for reviewing coaching progress. The coachee will pre-agree what success looks like after a series of confidential one-to-one sessions.

These sessions focus on a personalised approach discussing skills, knowledge, personality preferences and work performance.  During these sessions, we may discuss sensitive areas around management and leadership style and the effectiveness of their relationships with key stakeholders as well as explore the impact this has on business outcomes.

The agreement concludes with a development plan to ensure the growth and development of the coachee continues after the coaching.

With the support of an unbias coach, coaching can contribute to the coachee discovering new insights into themselves enabling greater self-awareness and confidence in their decision making.
